Auditorium of the Humboldt University Berlin

Upon entering historical auditorium number 10 for the first time, an overwhelming sense of awe leaves one momentarily speechless as an imposing room with ascending rows of historical wooden seating is revealed. The seat numbers of brass reflect the light, leading the eye to fall on the elaborately designed ceiling next.

The auditorium is illuminated with a custom construction based on mawa’s seventies lighting series. Similar to a bouquet, a bunch of six spotlights sits within each of the 12 ceiling rosettes. The quality of their fit was carefully coordinated with the plasterer.
Light color and quality create a comfortable atmosphere, highlight the time-honored surroundings and support audience concentration.

Following a complete renovation in 2018, the previously closed auditorium is once again in use and outfitted with state-of-the-art technology and security. With a capacity of more than 350 seats and the historical interior, it belongs not only to one of the largest, but above all, to the most beautiful of auditoriums at Humbolt University in Berlin.
